Design/realization

Commissioned by Siemens Nederland, Solidd has undertaken the following work for the renovation of the Nederrijn and Lek dam ensemble:

The design, fabrication, conservation and assembly of five sight slides at Hagestein, Amerongen and Driel, as well as the dismantling and disposal of the existing sight slides.
The design, renovation, conservation and assembly of an existing sightshift at Hagestein.
The design and renovation of six movements of the sightslides at Hagestein, Amerongen and Driel.
The design, fabrication, conservation and assembly of two cylindrical slides with mechanical motion works at Amerongen and Driel, as well as the dismantling and disposal of the existing cylinder slides.
The design, fabrication, conservation and assembly of a reusable temporary retaining device.

Details:

During the production process it was decided to design and fabricate a temporary retaining device for the changing of the sight slides. This temporary retaining device took over the function of the sight slide during the exchange of the existing sight slide for a new one. The temporary retaining device was applied five times for the change of a new sight gate and once for the renovated sight gate. The structure was equipped with culverts, removable bulkhead beams, to make the structure permeable to water in case of high water.
During the work, one of the sight gates per weir complex always remained fully functional.

Tecnical specification

The new visor arches measure 54m x 27m x 8m and consist of a semicircular construction with a radius of 27m in a 180° arc radius. Each sight arc has a weight of 360T.
